Pharmacology & Toxicology is the department of pharmacy which deals with effects produced on various organs, mechanism of action, therapeutic uses, adverse effects and toxic effects of the drug. It deals with what drug dose to the body and what body dose to the drug; and use of this knowledge in therapy of disease. In laboratory, effect of drugs on various systems or organs is studied on various animals. Here effect is observed on live animal or on isolated organ too. Student get knowledge of pithing, how to anaesthetize animal and isolate various organs from the animal. Students also become aware about how to check effect of new molecule and decide category, dose and frequency of dose of drug.
